Day 1: Arrival
Arrival in Catania-Fontanarossa Airport and transfer with private driver to NH Collection Taormina 4* (68 km / 50 min)
Day 2: Etna Tour and Dinner with a View
Pick-up at the hotel. The driver will drive you by highway to Ciarre and then continue through the following towns: S. Venerina, Milo and Fornazzo. From there reach an old lava flow in 4×4 in
order to admire the Valley of the Ox (Valle del Bove).
As a third stage you’ll walk on the Sartorius Craters, born during the lava flow 1865, in order to have an easy trekking on a natural and wild path.
On the way down, you’ll pass on the Mareneve road through Linguaglossa and Fiumefreddo.
In the afternoon explore with an English speaking guide the beautiful Taormina, an authentic gem of Sicily. Discover the monuments, the buildings, and the stories that made Taormina one of the most important and beautiful towns in the whole Sicily in the past and now as well. Why don’t end such a beautiful day with a dinner with a view?
Valley of the Ox
Day 3: Free Day
The Isola Bella is without doubt Taormina’s most beautiful beach. It is a pebble beach, set at the foot of the town, fronting the islet of the same name clothed in lush vegetation. The islet is linked to the mainland by a narrow strip of beach which is covered by water at high tide.
Day 4: Siracusa
Check out from NI I Collection Taormina and private transfer to Siracusa. Check in at Hotel Algila Ortigia Charme Hotel 4*.
In the afternoon have a nice walking tour with an English speaking guide in the beautiful Ortigia island.
Day 5: Noto and the Chocolate of Modica
Discover Noto, Sicilian’s ‘stone garden’ whose old town center has been declared a Unesco World IIeritage. On this guided tour you’ll explore an authentic gem of Sicily and learn about its history while admiring its stunning baroque signs. Visit. Porta Reale, San Francesco church., Santa Chiara church. the Cathedral. Palazzo Ducezio. San Carlo church and other precious at tractions.
The tour starts right from the sumptuous halls of Grimaldi building, and then reach out to local service, in one of which are preserved the oldest chocolate processing tools.
The next visit to the laboratory of one of the producers, who still keep alive the oldest chocolate tradition of Europe, will significantly help the development of the artisan process of processing and to satisfy the palate between different chocolate flavors, accompanied by other extraordinary and unusual delicacies of the confectionery tradition of Modica. The sight and smell you can delight finally, among the works on display at the Chocolate Museum, which also has exhibitions of Casa Grimaldi, of fundamental importance for the reconstruction of the fascinating history of chocolate of Modica.
The tour will end with the tasting of various flavors of chocolate.
Day 6: The Valley of the Temples
Take a stirring journey through the archaeological site at. Agrigento. The Valley of the Temples is an immense artistic and archaeological heritage of Sicily. Extending over approximately 1,300 hectares, it recounts a millenary history that began in the 6th Century B.C. with the foundation of the ancient. Creek colony of Akragas.
See the terraced levels of the site that used to be a center of public life of the ancient Greco-Romans. Then, its time to marvel at the aqueducts with your guide and learn all about the rich history of the Valley of the Temples. Walk the core of the archaeological site of Agrigento, passing magnificent temples such as the Temple to Zeus. Tempio della Concordia, Tempio di Eracle and many more. Admire the gymnasium, an ancient location for athletic, educational and recreational activities.
